All set up and tried to play.

I get this error

Quote:
You have been kicked from the game. The reason is Punkbuster kicked player Lister. for 0 minutes. Restriction Service Communication Failure PnkBstrB.exe heartbeat stopped.

Install checked Pb files and all ok ran pbsvc and got this

So my firewall is stopping PnkBstrA and B. How can I resolve this. Tried to allow the service in windows firewall but can't find PnkBstrA and B .exe in the system 32 folder.

Does anyone know what is going wrong.

We are streaming to PBBans.

it is streaming.

I was asking edd if he had manually updated his client... also another question would be has he uninstalled the beta if he had it?

Ok I have spent several hours each night trying to sort this since the game came out.

I have uninstalled the beta which never worked anyway.

I have reinstalled pb and manually updated it.

Have allowed the pb ports to be open on hardware and software firewall.

Have set game, PBA PBB to run as administrator

Now turned UAC off

Load into the game and select server. Start to join game Loading screen appears. As soon as the choose class screen appears the screen goes black and then to game interface and informs me my heartbeat has stopped.

Have looked at multiple forums for solution and tried nearly all of them apart form the turn around three times touch your nose suggestions etc

My Specs

AMD Quad 6600
NVidia 8600GTS (not the best but min spec is 7900GTS)
Creative X-Fi 5.1 Sound
Logitech G15 Keyboard
G9 Mouse Died so using standard laser
Window Home Premium Vista 64 bit

From the forums it appears that it is the 64 bit which is the problem on XP Vista and 7. The folders structure is different and pb may looking in the wrong folders for the PBA and PBB exe's

See Here

Don't what else to do apart from wait for EA and evenbalance to sort out the issues.

There are a few there. including manually starting it.

HOWEVER. I think Ian had this problem with COD4 and his solution was to re-install windows. Hope it does not come to that..
Oh have you tried removing the PB completely. Making sure you have stop the services before doing so. ( WIN+R the typr service.msc), the do a re-install after restarting your PC, making sure you have bisabled your virus checker.

Another question which virus checker do you use?

Tony if you have got time and don't mind can you tell me where your Punkbuster A and B files are located for BFBC2 please. I can then check to see if mine are in the right place.
